Pastor Walter Lanier is a graduate from Florida Baptist Schools and a Former Missionary to Kenya, East Africa. Bro. Walter Lanier assumed pastorate in 2004. Since that time we have increased in our Mission budget, increased our sending of missionaries to six of the seven continents, added a Director of Missions to our staff, began Westwood Baptist School of Missions as well as Westwood Missionary Baptist Complex. Pastor Lanier has also served as an instructor at the Emmaus Baptist College.

Pastor Kyler Lanier served as Associate Pastor of the Westwood Missionary Baptist Church from 2019 until 2024, when he became Pastor.

Church History
Organized on November 7, 1963, Westwood has been a pillar of faith and strength in the community for many years. It was built on the solid foundation of the Word of God, with one purpose: to minister to spiritual needs by carrying out the Great Commission of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20). Touching the lives of thousands, its ministries are far reaching, with mission efforts all over the world. Truly, "The Sun Never Sets on the Ministry of the Westwood Missionary Baptist Church."
